Meet the Pansies
Pansy Boys came from the dream of co-owner Josh and has been a project in the making for the last few years. Josh found the hobby of caring for indoor house plants as a way to relieve anxiety and depression and this was particularly helpful during the Covid lockdowns. This is a technique that co-owner Eddy has also learned, and Pansy Boys Plant Co. was born.
Pansy Boys Garden Co. came about from our love of the outdoors and landscaping. There's much satisfaction from transforming a neglected garden to a peaceful oasis! The smell of fresh cut lawn, and working outside in nature is unparalleled (unless the weather doesn't play ball).
Josh has studied and worked in interior design, architecture, construction project management, quantity surveying and real estate. He has been studying, collecting, growing, and trading rare house plants for more than 3 years; and developed a passion and extensive knowledge of the plants we sell. He has accumulated a very sought-after collection of uncommon and rare indoor house plants in our Auckland-based greenhouses; and has spent most of his time studying care techniques, propagation methods and creating artificial growing conditions to match native environments. Suffice to say plants are Josh’s passion!
Eddy is the back-end of the business and the passion behind Pansy Boys Web & Graphic Design, having studied business administration, branding design, and photography (the latter two being his passions).
